Assaults denied

Claims that he assaulted two police officers landed a man in court.

Mark Knight, of Cathcart Road, Rutherglen, is alleged to have spat at a policeman and thrown a shoe at his female colleague.

He is also accused of obstructing the officers by lashing out with his arms and legs.

The incident is alleged to have taken place at Torphin Street, Glasgow, on January 20.

Knight (36) is also accused of shouting and swearing at Glasgow Royal Infirmary on the same date.

This week at Glasgow Sheriff Court he denied the charges and trial was fixed for January 19.
