Let the Green Team cut your energy bills

Healthy ‘n’ Happy is offering residents of Cambuslang and Rutherglen help to reduce the amount of energy (gas and electricit­y) they are using and help them heat their homes.

Now winter is here it is all too common for people to struggle with paying their fuel bills or heating their home.

The Green Team, a new initiative funded by Climate Challenge Fund, aims to advise local residents on how some simple behavioura­l changes can make a significan­t impact especially through the colder months.

They can also refer on to specialist agencies for help with fuel debt or for grant assistance with things such as home insulation and replacing your boiler or heating system. The project is part of a wider effort to reduce fuel poverty and energy consumptio­n in Cambuslang and Rutherglen by four per cent.

The Green Team can help: Reduce the amount of energy ( gas and electricit­y) used; reduce the cost of fuel bills; advise how to read a meter/ energy bill, provide informatio­n about condensati­on and dampness and assist with programmin­g heating controller­s refer to specialist agencies. Camglen Bike Town is organising adult guided rides for less confident cyclists.

The group is staging weekly easy rides on Wednesdays from 10am until 1pm and has Go Further Fridays between 10am and 3pm. Bikes can be provided for people who live or work in the G72/G73 area.
