Honda in price hike

You will soon have to pay more for some Honda mod­els. The pop­u­lar Civic will cost from £16,470 come the New Year – an in­crease of 2.3 per cent.

The rise is in line with Honda’s re­cent move to in­crease prices which has seen the cost of the new HR-V cross­over rise by more than four per cent.

Honda says it is re­spond­ing to mar­ket forces which has seen com­peti­tor ve­hi­cles in­crease by as much as three per cent in the past 12 months.

Prices for the larger CR-V SUV and all but the en­try level Jazz su­per­mini will also go up from Jan­uary 4.

The CR-V will rise by 1.9 per cent tak­ing the start­ing price up to £22,770 while prices for the Jazz will rise by 2.3 per cent on av­er­age, al­though the range will con­tinue to be priced from £13,495.The HR-V now costs from £18,495.
