A dog’s life for Bruno

-

him. I put the lights on and dumped my heavy backpack. Then began the search. Bruno has been a life saver for me and rarely leaves my side.

It was after 1am and there was no sign off him anywhere.

I had headed back along to High Burnside when my phone went. It was my friend. “Have you lost something?” I could hear Bruno howling in the background.

My friend had gone to bed only to be woken up by a howling sound at her front door.

Bruno had made his way back the way and re-traced his journey.

Now, there is the big debate at the moment - are dogs more intelligent than cats?

I worked out that Bruno had to negotiate a minimum of 26 streets, seven sets of traffic lights, a by-pass and three main roads.

Now that is pretty impressive as he has only visited the friends house on a handful of occasions. What a nose and scent.

But the sting in the tail, he obviously has no sense of direction.

We were only 10 minutes from the house when he went for his stroll. James McGuigan via email passers-by.

If a running child or poor sighted older person collided with one of these sharp corners, their injuries could be serious.

There is a total of about 112 of these sharp corners along the length of the Main Street.

It seems to me that this problem could be easily solved without too much difficulty; for instance, the corners could be rounded off with an acetylene torch or a mechanical grinder, making them less dangerous. Robert Hanna East Kilbride Road

We’d like to thank Christine for her contribution to the committee and the work she does elsewhere in Scotland and going to the Parkinson’s UK AGM in London this year.

She’s done all these things along with her husband Jim and has health problems this year and who still carried on to make our voices heard on Parkinson’s issues. Jim Hilliard, vice-chairman, Lanarkshire and Glasgow SouthParkinson’s Group
