Bowlers praised for their CHAS fundraising efforts
A bowling club in Rutherglen has been thanked after raising £5,500 for a special cause.
The Friends of CHAS club are based in the West of Scotland Indoor Bowling Centre at Shawfield.
Over the past eight years, the group have been raising funds for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.
In that time, the volunteers have raised over £27,000 for the charity.
They handed their latest cheque to CHAS fundraiser, Samantha Reilly.
Samantha said:“The members of Friends of CHAS Bowling Club should be very proud.
“I always look forward to seeing them and finding out about their fantastic fundraising. Thank you to each and every one of them for their continued support and enthusiasm, what an achievement.”
Kerr Reid, Friends of CHAS Bowling Club treasurer added:“The cheque for £5,500 was the largest amount we have ever presented to CHAS at an AGM.
“Everyone helps in their own way and on behalf of the club; I would like to thank all of the members for their contributions. Big or small, it all makes a difference.”
