Gig for Celtic Mu­sic Ra­dio

A fundrais­ing gig in aid of a ra­dio sta­tion is set to be held at Ruther­glen United Re­form Church.

Chri s t i n e Spa rk s, Tom­fool­ery, Davy Lees and Nor­rie McCul­loch are on the bill for the event on Thurs­day, March 17, which is to raise money for Celtic Mu­sic Ra­dio 95FM’s move into new stu­dio premises.

The char­ity sta­tion, run by a team of 30 mu­si­clov­ing vol­un­teers, has moved into a new stu­dio on Glas­gow’s south side and this gig is part of the con­tin­u­ing ef­fort to im­prove out­put and pro­vide a fes­ti­val of mu­sic ev­ery day of the year.

Ross Macfadyen, the sta­tion’s mu­si­cal di­rec­tor said: “We need to raise funds so we’ve called on some of Scot­land’s most highly- rated per­form­ers to help out and play at this gig for free, com­mu­nity ra­dio sta­tion in the UK ded­i­cated to Scot­tish and Ir­ish Celtic mu­sic though it play loads of other gen­res as well.

The sta­tion raises its own funds through ad­ver­tis­ing, lis­tener do­na­tions and live gigs such as the up­com­ing Ruther­glen gig.

Tick­ets are £ 10 and are avail­able via www. celtic­mu­s­i­cra­ or at the door on the night.

Doors 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.
