Promotion hopefuls East Kilbride Thistle ran out comfortable winners against Cambuslang Rangers, with Alan McFadden, Mark Bishop and Liam McLaughlin on target for the Jags.

Thistle pressed Cambuslang into their own half and the pressure paid off on 18 minutes as they deservedly took the lead. Thomas McCluskey picked up a loose ball and threaded a great pass through to McFadden, who had beaten the offside trap, and he had an easy task of slotting the ball beyond Lynch and into the net.

On 37 minutes, Cambuslang almost got back on level terms when Bob Davidson curled a 25-yard free-kick round the wall, only for the ball to cannon off the bar.

Thistle continued in the second half where they had left off and Matt Lynch was smart off his line to punch clear a Craig Miles corner on 46 minutes and then later Miles squandered another opportunity as he blasted over from close range after Bishop
