A young Cambuslang autograph hunter bagged his 500th signature last week – thanks to the Reformer.

We arranged for 14- yearold Ewan Allan to meet Jane McCarry – Isa in Still Game – to reach the landmark.

He has now set his sights on 600 autographs.

A Cambuslang autograph hunter bagged his 500th celebrity scribble last week - and it was all thanks to the Reformer.

Two weeks ago, we reported that Ewan Allan, 14, was looking to do something special when he completed his journey.

So we arranged for the Still Game fan to meet actress Jane McCarry, who plays gossip Isa in the hit show, at Rutherglen Town Hall.

The pair chatted about the Cathkin High pupil’s collection, with Jane having a flick through some of his photos.

Among the many faces, Jane was delighted to spot her pal, Colin McCredie, who has starred in shows such as Taggart and River City.

And after they had finished, Jane signed a picture of her Still Game alter-ego.

Ewan’s delighted dad, Stephen, said: “Jane was so nice, it was terrific and Ewan really enjoyed himself.

“When we left, he was on such a high, he just loved it.

“They went through his albums and Jane was really delighted to spot Colin McCredie, who is a friend of hers.

“I can only thank her for her time, she was lovely.”

Jane, who stays in King’s Park, was only too happy to help after the Reformer got in touch.

And she joked that Isa, who is well known for her inability to keep a secret, would make sure everyone knew about it.

“It was an honour to be number 500 for Isa Drennan,” she laughed.

“And I’m sure she’ll let the whole of Craiglang know about it.

“Ewan is a lovely young man, it was a pleasure to meet him and his dad. “He’s got an amazing collection, everyone seems to be there, from Colin McCreadie to Stan Lee, and it was great to get to look through them all.”

Stephen reckons Ewan won’t be happy to stop at 500 autographs: “I can see him going for 600.

“I’ll keep doing it until he gets bored of it or wants to start going to these events with his friends. We’re not just collecting autographs, we’re collecting memories, it’s something we do together.

“There’s a YouTube blogger coming to Glasgow and Ewan wants their autograph, but I have no idea who they are. That’s the first time he’s known someone who I haven’t, so the dynamic is already changing.”
