Man (80) hit by car in Cathkin

An 80 year-old man will require surgery to his hip after being hit by a car on Monday.

The pensioner was walking on Cullins Road in Cathkin at around 8.30am when the incident happened.

He was taken to the Southern General Hospital but his condition is not life threatening.

The female driver of the car was understood to be extremely shaken by the incident.

No charges will be brought against the driver.
