Brown helps launch Lib Dems’ Glasgow campaign

-

Rutherglen Liberal Democrat candidate Robert Brown helped launch his party’s Glasgow campaign last week.

Councillor Brown, who is also lead candidate on the Glasgow list, spoke at an event alongside former deputy first minister Lord Wallace of Tankerness.

The event also marked the 10th anniversary of Bailie Margot Clark’s council by-election win in King’s Park.

Mr Brown said Scotland is in need of a liberal voice at Holyrood:“I have a strong sense that the tide is turning in our favour.

“Our job is to strengthen the liberal voice by winning back a seat in Glasgow region. This is a battle of ideas, based on opportunity for all our people, the power of education and reasoned debate.

“As for the SNP, reality is not really their strong point.

“There would be a £15billion black hole in the public finances – half the current Scottish budget. Dr Sturgeon’s independence brew will cure all.

“Scotland voted to stay in the United Kingdom. The SNP approach is that we got it wrong so we’ll have another referendum and do it again properly.

“It is time to move on from the referendum and get Scotland fit for the future.”
