Figures revealed last week show that over 1,100 couples tied the knot in South Lanarkshire last year.
There were 1,096 opposite sex marriages and 72 same sex marriages, with one female civil partnership.
The figures were released by The National Records of Scotland and also include the number of births and deaths.
And a breakdown of the population shows there are 653,310 people living in Lanarkshire, 315,360 people living in South Lanarkshire and 337,950 in North Lanarkshire.
South Lanarkshire has 151,790 males (48.1 per cent) and 163,570 females (51.9 per cent).
The figures detail the estimated population of Lanarkshire on June 30, 2014.
From June 30, 2013, to June 30, 2014, South Lanarkshire’s population rose by 510 (0.2 per cent) from 314,850 to 315,360.
Provisional figures for births, deaths, adoptions, mar r i a g e s a n d civil partnerships registered during 2015 were also revealed.
There were 3,185 live births in South Lanarkshire – with 1,640 baby boys and 1,545 girls. There were ten stillbirths last year.
Across South Lanarkshire there were 3,496 deaths last year – 1,600 males and 1,896 females.
