We’ll invest £690m

-

The SNP has a strong track record, having exceeded our target to build 30,000 new, affordable homes in the last parliament.

We’ve also started a new generation of councilhouse building, with 5,300 new homes. Labour only managed six council houses in their last term.

By scrapping Right to Buy, the SNP have ensured around 15,500 homes will remain in the social sector over the next decade – in sharp contrast to Tory proposals to sell off thousands more social homes, further draining the social housing stock in England.

The Welsh Labour government have failed to follow the SNP lead, and have kept Thatcher’s policy.

We aim to build 50,000 new affordable homes in the next parliament, including 35,000 for social rent, making an investment of around £690million in housing.
