Louise Dawson

Cambuslang, was nominated for the Design category at the BAFTAS.

It was for her great work in the film Starfish where she was seen to be an up-and-coming success.

In the film, her character Amy unwillingly takes her younger brother Liam to the beach for the day and their relationship is tested by the realities of their family life.

Louise, 23, had also been nominated in 2015 under ‘ Best Factual’ as a co-producer for the documentary ‘Late night in Glasgow’.

She is fresh out of university, having only just graduated in July 2015 and Starfish was part of her graduation showcase, and it was her first real shot at directing a film with a budget

It really was an incredible surprise to be nominated.
