Housing sites plan wanted
South Lanarkshire Council are preparing a new Local Development Plan.
The plan is guided by the Glasgow and Clyde Valley Strategic Development Plan and housing needs and demand assessment.
Although these indicate there is no need to release new land for housing, individuals, developers, landowners and agents are being given the chance to suggest sites for housing.
The overall strategic vision contained in the current Local Development Plan is: “To promote the continued growth and regeneration of South Lanarkshire by seeking sustainable economic and social development within a low carbon economy whilst protecting and enhancing the environment.”
Residents are asked to send suggestions by Friday, May 13. Make representations online at www.southlanarkshire.gov. uk/ planning, by emailing localplan@southlanarkshire. gov. uk or in any planning office or library in South Lanarkshire.
