Rail disruption to continue for three weeks

-

Disruption to Sunday train services between Rutherglen and Cambuslang will continue for a further two weeks, ScotRail has confirmed.

Work to replace track and signal equipment began on April 10 and will be resumed for the next two Sundays, finally ending on May 1.

The work means train services between Balloch and Larkhall will make their final stop at Rutherglen Station.

For people travelling to Cambuslang buses will run between Bridgeton and Newton and will connect with Glasgow Central.

There is no train/ bus interchange at Rutherglen due to the distance between the station and main road.

The Balloch to Motherwell via Whifflet service is also affected by the works, and will see a bus run between Whifflet and Motherwell.
