Smart teaching in local schools
A digital education strategy has been launched in Rutherglen and Cambuslang schools.
Councillors on an education committee were yesterday, Tuesday, given an update on the initiative, which was launched last month.
They heard that school pupils and adult learners were “in an ideal position to gain the necessary digital skills that can help prepare them for an ever changing world.”
The strategy is designed to comply with the Scottish Government’s policy on ICT in learning, which says learners, parents and educators should take full advantage of the opportunities created by technology.
A report to councillors read: “The digital education strategy will support schools, establishments and services in addressing a key aspect of the curriculum for excellence.
“The strategy has a strong focus on developing the digital skills required as a means of engaging, challenging and motivating all learners in order to increase their levels of achievement.”
