Roofless S-Class

Mercedes has opened the order books for its first open-top S-Class model since the W 111 of 1971.

The new S-Class Cabriolet, which will cost from £110,120 for the S 500 AMG Line,comes with a choice of three engines.

The S 500 boasts a twin-turbo 4.6-litre V8 with a power output of 455bhp, the Mercedes-AMG S 63 has a 5.5-litre V8 twinturbocharged unit generating 585bhp while the rangetopping S 65 features a 6.0-litre V12 twin-turbo with an output of 630bhp.

The S 500 can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds, while still achieving 32.5 mpg, the S 63 can hit 62 mph in 4.2 seconds and the S 65 can reach the same speed in only 4.1 seconds.
