Chil­dren en­joy Zumba classes – and smooth­ies

Kids at Cairns Nurs­ery were feel­ing healthy with a spe­cial se­ries of events last week.

The class held a health week which in­cludes a va­ri­ety of ac­tiv­i­ties within the fa­cil­ity.

Th­ese in­cluded smoothie mak­ing, fruit tast­ing and a visit from the oral ed­u­ca­tor.

The chil­dren also took part in Zumba classes in part­ner­ship with par­ents and car­ers.

There was even a healthy teddy bears pic­nic.

Michelle Burns, team leader at the nurs­ery, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen home school part­ner­ship for all their help.

“Also a big thank you to the Cam­bus­lang Co-op and Deb­bie Hicky, the com­mu­nity li­ai­son per­son for the do­na­tion of fruit and wa­ter.

“Also a big thank you to Christine Reid and Myla for pro­vid­ing Zumba classes for the chil­dren.”
