Foster care praise

-

Foster parents in Rutherglen and Cambuslang have been thanked for making the lives of vulnerable children better.

Mark McDonald, Scottish minister for early years and childcare, has written to foster carers in the two towns to thank them for opening their homes and families to children who have had a difficult start to life.

Mr McDonald said: “Thank you to everyone who give these children and young people the greatest gift imaginable.

“There can be no doubt that the commitment made by foster carers is life changing and vital to supporting children and young people who can’t remain at home.

“As minister for early years and childcare I want to ensure that we are doing all we can to support looked after children and the people who give them a home, provide them with stability and affection and build brighter futures.”
