Groups handed grants

The following community groups and organisati­ons in the local area have been handed grants by Glasgow City Council:

Miller Primary School, bus hire for two class outings to M&D’s and Heads of Ayr in June 2016 for 199 pupils – £500.

Denise Wallace School of Dance, towards the cost of transport and accommodat­ion for 25 dancers participat­ing in the British Championsh­ips in Wales – £1,000.

Castlemilk Family Learning Centre, towards the cost of developing outdoor space to enhance the learning experience of many children, without access to garden space at home – £4,860.

Croftfoot United Free Church of Scotland, towards the cost of holding a community event in the church and grounds on Saturday, September 17 – £1,200.

Christ the King over 50s club, bus hire for trip to Perth in July 2016 for 24 members – £250.

Castlemilk Parish Church Guild, bus hire for trip to Largs and Greenbank Garden Centre on June 27 for 17 members – £130.

Glasgow Life, Glasgow Communitie­s, South East team – Glencroft Play club, to run a summer holiday pilot programme in July and August operating three days a week in Glencroft Community hall for 20 children aged five-11 – £1,750.
