The row over whether a wind turbine should be built in Cambuslang took a fresh twist after MP Margaret Ferrier called for a halt to the plans.

The Healthy N’Happy community development trust had proposed the mast be built, sparking an angry reaction from locals, and the new MP made her position clear by stating at a meeting that she shared“many of the local residents’concerns.”

In other news, Ms Ferrier was presented with a petition opposing the proposed Cathkin relief road, while the new McDonalds restaurant moved closer to opening.
