The fam­ily of Cam­bus­lang teenager Chloe Duf­fin, who suf­fers from a rare syn­drome that causes fa­cial ab­nor­mal­i­ties, have raised nearly £100,000 for char­ity.

They now want to bring Amer­i­can suf­fer­ers of Gold­en­har Syn­drome to the UK.

A big lunch is be­ing planned for Over­toun Park.

The Over­toun Com­mu­nity Grow­ing Project are set to hold a Big Lunch event in Over­toun Park on Sun­day, June 12, from 1pm on­wards.

There will be ac­tiv­i­ties for chil­dren in­clud­ing a sto­ry­telling ses­sion from sto­ry­teller Amanda Ed­min­ston from Botan­ica Fab­ula ( http:// www. botan­i­cafab­ula.co.uk/), seed bomb-mak­ing, and arts and crafts.

The Big Lunch is a sim­ple idea from the Eden Project.

Its aim is to get as many peo­ple as pos­si­ble across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neigh­bours and/or the wider com­mu­nity an­nu­ally on a Sun­day in June in a sim­ple act of com­mu­nity, friend­ship and fun.

Res­i­dents go­ing are ad­vised to take lunch and food to share if you would like to, and ta­ble and chairs/ pic­nic blan­ket if pos­si­ble.

A lim­ited num­ber of ta­bles and chairs are avail­able.

Ev­ery­one is wel­come to at­tend.
