Jobs fair comes to Royal Burgh

- Staff reporter

Rutherglen MP Margaret Ferrier has teamed up with Rutherglen Jobcentre Plus to host a jobs fair in Rutherglen this Friday, June 3.

Featuring some large employers such as Tesco and Costa Coffee, the fair will also feature KFC, who are keen to recruit for their new restaurant due to open shortly in Rutherglen.

Aimed primarily at those looking for employment, the fair is also open to those considering a change of job or career, or who would like to develop new skills and gain new qualifications.

Rutherglen Jobs Fair is free to attend and available to everyone. Attendees are invited to drop in between 10am and 2.30pm at Rutherglen Town Hall.

Ms Ferrier said: “I’m delighted to work along with Rutherglen Jobcentre Plus to bring this jobs fair to Rutherglen. Although the area enjoys low levels of unemployment, this is exactly the kind of initiative needed to connect employers with potential workers.

“It’s great to see so many organisations supporting the event and lending their skills and expertise. If successful, I hope that this fair can become a regular occurrence, and

replicated right throughout my constituency.”
