Mu­sic fes­ti­val back at track

It was where it all be­gan for T in the Park and now a new mu­sic fes­ti­val is set to bring the best of Scot­tish tal­ent back to its birth place in the heart of La­nark­shire.

Hamil­ton Park Race­course has just an­nounced de­tails of its first ever Mu­sic Fes­ti­val Racenight and will bring to the stage Scot­tish Indie rock­ers Glasve­gas for one night only in the grand fi­nale of its Jor­dan Electrics Su­per Satur­days se­ries.

On Satur­day, Septem­ber 24, the Glas­gow four-piece will en­ter­tain thou­sands of guests with clas­sic tunes like ‘Geraldine’ and ‘Daddy’s Gone’ as well as a per­form­ing a host of new ma­te­rial in an event that will cel­e­brate the best lo­cal bands in the coun­try.

Kelvin and Indigo Vel­vet - al­ready cult names in the Scot­tish mu­sic scene - are just some of the other acts in the jam-packed line-up. The or­gan­iser is also in talks with a num­ber of other big name acts and will re­veal de­tails in the com­ing weeks.

The gates to the ac­tion packed, day­long event will open at 12 noon and will also fea­ture a thrilling race­card to match the fes­ti­val line-up in­clud­ing the £20,000 Totepool EBF Stal­lions Flower of Scot­land Hand­i­cap Stakes (Class 3) fea­ture race.

Vivien Kyles, Chief Ex­ec­u­tive at Hamil­ton Park Race­course, said: “Bring­ing a mu­si­cal fes­ti­val back to Hamil­ton has been a long term am­bi­tion of the race­course and to have Glasve­gas as the head­line act will be mu­sic to the ears of rev­ellers across the coun­try. Hamil­ton is no stranger to mu­sic fes­ti­vals and this event is all about bring­ing to­gether Scot­tish bands to cel­e­brate our love of mu­sic.
