School is out for the summer and many pupils will be making the most of their months off either abroad or at home.

But the primary seven pupils at St Mark’s will be hoping to relax and rest that little bit more as they look forward to joining secondary school in August.

Alexander Morgan, 12, told the Reformer he would be visiting the bright lights of Blackpool before he heads off to Trinity High.

He said: “I’m going to try and spend time with my class before we depart to high school.

“I’m looking forward to it but I’m sad to leave because I know other people in the school, not just P7.

“I’m going to Blackpool for five days and might be doing some gymnastics.”

Erin Bruce, 11, was upset to leave St Mark’s but couldn’t wait for the summer holidays.

She said: “Me and my family are going to Benidorm in June.

“I’m sad to leave, but I’ll be spending time with family and friends and make the most of it.”

Aidan McGurk, 11, added: “I’m going to play basketball in the summer.

“I am feeling good but nervous about high school.”

Megan Mullen, 12, will be attending a special occasion during her time off.

She said: “I will be going to my mum’s wedding in August and we might go on holiday after that. We’ll wait and see.

“I’m going to do gymnastics too.”
