Hol­i­day plans be­fore move to high school

School is out for the sum­mer and many pupils will be mak­ing the most of their months off ei­ther abroad or at home.

But the pri­mary seven pupils at St Mark’s will be hop­ing to re­lax and rest that lit­tle bit more as they look for­ward to join­ing se­condary school in Au­gust.

Alexan­der Mor­gan, 12, told the Re­former he would be vis­it­ing the bright lights of Black­pool be­fore he heads off to Trin­ity High.

He said: “I’m go­ing to try and spend time with my class be­fore we de­part to high school.

“I’m look­ing for­ward to it but I’m sad to leave be­cause I know other peo­ple in the school, not just P7.

“I’m go­ing to Black­pool for five days and might be do­ing some gym­nas­tics.”

Erin Bruce, 11, was up­set to leave St Mark’s but couldn’t wait for the sum­mer hol­i­days.

She said: “Me and my family are go­ing to Benidorm in June.

“I’m sad to leave, but I’ll be spend­ing time with family and friends and make the most of it.”

Ai­dan McGurk, 11, added: “I’m go­ing to play bas­ket­ball in the sum­mer.

“I am feel­ing good but ner­vous about high school.”

Megan Mullen, 12, will be at­tend­ing a spe­cial oc­ca­sion dur­ing her time off.

She said: “I will be go­ing to my mum’s wed­ding in Au­gust and we might go on hol­i­day af­ter that. We’ll wait and see.

“I’m go­ing to do gym­nas­tics too.”
