£2.5m land deal sealed

The largest plot at the Ruther­glen Links busi­ness site has been bought in a mul­ti­mil­lion pound deal.

Har­ris Fi­nance have snapped up the 12- acre plot C at Ruther­glen Links Busi­ness Park from Clyde Gate­way.

The deal, which will see 30,000 sq ft of in­dus­trial/ hy­brid units be­ing built, is worth around £2.5mil­lion.

It is hoped the de­vel­op­ment could even­tu­ally sup­port 55 jobs once busi­nesses move in.

Har­ris Fi­nance have pur­chased the land for “spec­u­la­tive build pur­poses.”

Based in Bridgeton, the com­pany hav e al­ready brought 50 jobs to the Clyde Gate­way area through spec­u­la­tively built com­mer­cial prop­er­ties.

Fionna Kell, in­ward in­vest­ment man­ager at Clyde Gate­way, said: “We are de­lighted by the ex­cit­ing prospect of trig­ger­ing new spec­u­la­tive de­vel­op­ment at Ruther­glen Links Busi­ness Park and all the as­so­ci­ated ben­e­fits this will bring to the area in stim­u­lat­ing fur­ther new busi­ness and em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties.

“Clyde Gate­way is fast be­com­ing the des­ti­na­tion to do busi­ness in Scot­land across a va­ri­ety of sec­tors. The site of­fers premier, energy- ef­fi­cient and low cost in­vest­ment and de­vel­op­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties. Busi­nesses mov­ing here will also ben­e­fit from ex­cel­lent con­nec­tiv­ity through road and pub­lic trans­port links, fan­tas­tic busi­ness sup­port and su­per­fast broad­band.”
