Racist remarks trial

-

Two women from Castlemilk are alleged to have acted in a racially aggravated manner towards another woman in an incident at Farmfoods, Drakemire Drive, Glasgow, on July 15, 2015. Megan Paterson, 25, and Rebecca Paterson, 22, both of Blaeloch Drive, deny having shouted, sworn, threatened the female and repeatedly made racist remarks to and about her.

The pair go on trial on December 15. Motorists in Rutherglen and Cambuslang heading south on the M74 have been warned to expect major delays for the next two months.

Major construction activities began last week at the M74 Raith and A725 Shawhead Junction.

The work is part of the £ 500million M8 M73 M74 Motorway Improvement Project. F o l l owi n g completion of the bridges over Raith Junction 5, the existing M74 contraflow between the off and on slips will be replaced by new temporary traffic management to allow the construction of a new accommodation bridge (Bothwellpark Road Bridge) over the M74 motorway, to the north of Junction 5, Raith.

The new contraflow will be in operation between Bothwell Service Station and Junction 5 Raith.

During the day, the M74 will be reduced to two narrow lanes in each direction, while at night, one carriageway will be reduced to one lane travelling.

The existing 50mph speed limit restriction will remain in place, enforced by average speed safety cameras.
