Happy n Healthy team win second award

-

Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust were left stunned when they picked up another prestigious award.

They scooped the Best Community Initiative gong at the Glasgow Awards.

The win follows hot on the heels of their win at the UK-wide Charity Governance Awards earlier this year.

Senior team leader Liz Holmes and board member Jim Bolton represented Healthy n Happy at the ceremony and were on hand to collect the award following the big reveal.

Brendan Rooney, Healthy n Happy’s executive director said: “We are delighted to receive this award and I would like to thank the members of the public who voted for Healthy n Happy.

“These awards mean a little extra when it’s the people who use our services that help us achieve these successes.

“However, this award would also not be possible without the hard work of all the board, staff team and volunteers.”

Healthy n Happy were initially chosen by a group of judges to go on the shortlist for the prize before a public vote saw them come out on top.

Over 250 people attended the award ceremony which was hosted by radio DJ Gina McKee and celebrated the achievements of the community, people and businesses that have been making a difference and contributing to the development of the city and its wider areas.

The Glasgow Awards also partnered up with The Well Foundation as the official charity to raise money for the Classrooms in Malawi project.
