Quads in Holmhills again
Quad bikers are again causing problems for users of Holmhills Park.
In May we reported that bikers were potentially putting young children in danger and being abusive to people who asked them to leave.
And it seems the problem has not gone away, with the issue being raised at a meeting of the Friends of Holmhills Park group last Thursday.
The group posted on their Facebook page: “This time they’ve been heard and seen, regularly [over] the last few weeks, behind Cathkin High on the grass pitches and surrounding area.
“Remember this is a dangerous activity and can be reported to the police on 101, just give location and description if you can.
“We would like to develop a history of this issue with police so they can see a pattern and keep it on their radar. Also feel free to lets us know through this page if you have seen any.
“Off road bikes are frightening to children and animals and are not suited for use in a park or residential area.”
Under current rules, a licence is not needed to ride a quad bike off road.
