Admits to raceabuse

The passenger of a taxi accused of racially abusing the driver has been fined £400.

Alexander Hay behaved in racially aggravated manner by shouting, swearing, made threatening gestures and uttered racist remarks on January 31, 2016.

Hay, 49, of Staffa Road, Cambuslang, committed the offence while in a car en route to Cathcart Police Station.

He pled guilty to the charges when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on June 22 and was fined £400 which is to be paid by August 19.
