Tatum making a Splash

Channing Tatum will have to channel his inner merman after being cast in the remake of hit 1984 comedy Splash.

The 36-year-old (pictured, right) is taking on Daryl Hannah’s iconic mermaid role for the role-reversal reboot, which will also feature Tatum’s 22 Jump Street co-star Jillian Bell.

Also making a return to the big screen is maverick marine Hicks, with star Michael Biehn confirming the character will be resurrected for District 9 director Neill Blomkamp’s planned Alien sequel, alongside Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley.
