Get on your bike to work

Peo­ple keen to cy­cle to work but lack­ing con­fi­dence are be­ing of­fered a help­ing hand by Camglen Bike Town Ini­tia­tive.

Run by Healthy n’Happy Com­mu­nity Trust, the ini­tia­tive is of­fer­ing free train­ing to peo­ple liv­ing and work­ing in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang through­out Au­gust.

Par­tic­i­pants will be trained in ba­sic cy­cle skills and will be sup­ported to plan a route to work. They will be ac­com­pa­nied by an ex­pe­ri­enced cy­clist on their first day of cy­cling to and from their work­place.

In ad­di­tion to the free cy­cling work­shops on Au­gust 20 and Au­gust 27 the Camglen Bike Town Ini­tia­tive is run­ning Wed­nes­day guided rides.

Peo­ple of all ages are in­vited to cy­cle at their own pace.

Any­one who does not have their own bike can bor­row one from the pro­ject.
