Croftfoot Parish Church will hold a fun day this Saturday, August 27.

The event will start at noon and run until 3pm, with entry being free.

Bouncy castles, face painting and lots of fun and games are promised.

The church will hold a Light and Life event on Saturday, September 3 from 7.30pm-9.30pm. It is open to those of all faiths, those of no faith and those who are curious.

It presents the chance to come along and enjoy a coffee with friends or visit a selection of stalls offering prophetic words, dream interpreta­tions, spiritual art, massage and healing prayer. All are welcome There will also be an alpha course starting on August 13.

The 10 week course will be an introducti­on to the Christian faith and includes a meal.

King’s Park Church’s holiday club is taking place this week, until Friday, August 26.

It will be called Showstoppe­rs and is for all primary one to primary seven children.

There will be lots of fun, games, songs, arts and crafts, challenges and drama for the youngsters to enjoy.

Juice and biscuits will be provided and entry is 50p per child per night.

The toddlers group in the parish at St Bride’s resumes today, August 24 in Mercy Hall.

Tickets are now on-sale for a quiz night in St Bride’s in St Bride’s Chapel Hall this Saturday, August 27. It will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6.

Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open from noon until 2pm each Thursday, when anyone is welcome to visit and find out about the church’s 1400-year history.

Toryglen Parish Church’s car boot sales continue on the last Saturday of each month from noon until 3pm in the Cornerston­e Hall.

Due to the ongoing unavailabi­lity of the car park, these are being held indoors and have become more of a craft market/high-end table top sale.

Burnside Blairbeth Church are continuing to run a service on the first Saturday of every month in the Rodger Memorial building in Kirkriggs Avenue

Messy Church is aimed at families.

It starts with an hour of crafts and games, where those taking part might get messy, and is followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal together.

Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meeting Place is open to all Monday to Saturday from 10.30am-2.30pm.

Tea and coffee are available, along with home baking, and there is a second-hand book stall available.

St Columbkill­e’s Church craft group has now re-started. They meet in the hall from 11am—1pm.

They do knitting, crochet and sewing.

The White Fathers Parents and Friends Associatio­n will hold their annual reunion this Sunday, August 28 at the King’s Park hotel at 2pm, following a mass at 9 Milrig Road, Rutherglen.

Tickets are on sale for a concert at Fernhill and Cathkin Church on Friday, September 2. Studio 32 are performing from 7.30pm.

St Oswald’s Church are continuing to push ahead with their plans for a men’s shed.

The hope is the shed can become a space used by men in the local community to meet and use.

Flemington Hallside Church holds a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm

Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe will re-open next month following its summer break.

The cafe will be back on September 7.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s garden team meet every Saturday morning from 9.30am until noon.

Anyone who wants to take part is welcome to go along and help out.

Their weekly friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am-noon in West and Wardlawhil­l Parish Church in Western Avenue.
