Driver was drunk

A drink driver who got behind the wheel while four times the legal limit was hit with a driving ban.

Stephen McKeown ( 35) drove along Calderwood Road in East Kilbride with 89 microgrammes of alcohol in his system. The legal limit is 22 mcgs. McKeown, of 68 Castlefern Road, Rutherglen, admitted the charge at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week.

He was disqualified from driving for 16 months and given a £200 fine.

The court ordered for his driving licence to be endorsed.
