Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church will hold a coffee morning on Saturday, October 2.

Entry is £2 and it will be open from 10am until noon.

The church’s garden team meet every Saturday morning from 9.30am until noon.

Anyone who wants to take part is welcome to go along and help out.

Their weekly friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am-noon. There will be a Ladies Night this Friday, October 1, in the Mercy Hall at St Bride’s. Entry is £6.

St Oswald’s Church are continuing to push ahead with their plans for a men’s shed.

The hope is the shed can become a space for men in the community to meet and use.

Flemington Hallside Church holds a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm.

Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open from noon until 2pm each Thursday, when anyone is welcome to visit and find out about the church’s 1400-year history.

The Salvation Army in Rutherglen have several groups running during the week.

On Tuesdays the Sunshine Toddlers Group takes place between 9.45-11.45am and Jesus and Me runs between 5-6.30pm.

The kids club is open to all children of primary school age and runs on a Wednesday from 5-6.30pm,

Toryglen Parish Church’s car boot sales continue on the last Saturday of each month from noon until 3pm in the Cornerston­e Hall.

Due to the ongoing unavailabi­lity of the car park, these are being held indoors and have become more of a craft market/high-end table top sale.

The cafe will be open on Wednesday’s from 10am-noon. St Columbkill­e’s Church craft group has restarted. They meet in the hall from 11am-1pm to do knitting, crochet and sewing.

The Charismati­c Prayer Group continues to meet every Wednesday between 7-8.30pm.

This includes regular teachings on scripture for a deeper understand­ing of God’s word.

King’s Park Parish Church have a range of activities on offer over the next week. These include: Zumba class, caterpilla­r music, mother and toddlers group, mixed badminton, messy church, community cafe, God Tok, pathfinder­s, carpet bowls and youth club.

The new session of the Guild will begin on Wednesday October 5 at 2pm, when they will be entertaine­d by the Hi-Lites Group.

The Guild meets every Wednesday at 2pm, with the exception of when there’s a special events, such as a charity night, the guest night and the daffodil tea, all of which are held in the evenings at 7.30pm.

Castlemilk Parish Church have started a new initiative.

They will hold community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month.

Soup, pizza and pavlova will be available on Fridays from 6-8pm along with some live music.

Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am-2.30pm.

Tea and coffee are available, along with home baking, and a second-hand book stall.

Stonelaw have also started holding monthly 30 minute services in the Meeting Place on the first Wednesday of every month.

There will be tea and chat afterwards. There are no hard pews and it is suitable for all.

Burnside Blairbeth Church are continuing to run a service on the first Saturday of every month in the Rodger Memorial building in Kirkriggs Avenue.

Messy Church is aimed at families and will take place this Saturday, October 2.

It starts with an hour of crafts and games, where those taking part might get messy, and is followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal.

Their group The Way takes place on Sunday nights.

It takes place from 7.30 until 9pm at the Burnside building.

Everyone in P7 to S6 is welcome.
