The Cam­bus­lang branch of the Royal Bri­tish Le­gion will hold two cer­e­monies in the town on Re­mem­brance Sun­day.

The first will be at 10.30am for 11am at the Cam­bus­lang War Me­mo­rial in Cam­bus­lang Park.

Then at noon, a sec­ond will be held at the miner’s wheel on Hamil­ton Road.

Res­i­dents will then be in­vited back to the Ma­sonic Lodge on Taber­na­cle Lane for tea and cof­fee.

Re­mem­brance Sun­day is on Novem­ber 13 this year.

De­pute Provost Pam Clearie will also host a cer­e­mony at the miner’s wheel on Fri­day, Novem­ber 11 at 10.45 for 11am, ex­actly 98 years to the day when the guns fell silent.

Lo­cal pri­mary pupils will be there to place poppy crosses in the flower beds.
