Help around the house

-

Residents in Rutherglen are being asked to nominate an unpaid carer who they feel deserves an extra pair of hands.

Team members at Mecca Bingo on Main Street are gearing up to raise money for Carers Trust when the clocks go back.

While most of the UK will be looking forward to an extra hour in bed, the team will use the additional time to help unpaid carers with the tasks that they can never find that spare hour to do, from gardening and decorating to DIY and dusting.

To nominate an unpaid carer simply answer the following questions and email your responses to meccacareoclock@havas.com by October 29.

What is the relationship between you and the carer? For example, are they a friend, neighbour or parent?

Which town/city does the carer live in? Who does the carer provide care to? What do they do for this person/ people? What task do they need help with?

Complete this sentence:“This carer deserves an extra hour of time courtesy of Mecca Bingo because….”

Confirm the person is not paid for the care they provide.

Club manager Lynne McMillan said:“We all know the feeling that there isn’t enough time in the day and unpaid carers probably feel this more often than the average person so it’s nice to do something for them.”
