Concern over anti-social behaviour

-

Cathkin and Fernhill residents have contacted local councillors with concerns about anti- social behaviour.

The Reformer reported last week that three fires were set alight over the weekend of October 7, with a fire set within the grounds of Blairbeth Golf Course on Saturday, a second at Fernbrae Avenue on Sunday and a third on Shieldaig Drive on Monday.

At a meeting of Rutherglen Community Council councillor Gerard Killen said he had received a number of complaints from people living in the area.

He said: “I have had complaints about anti-social behaviour in Cathkin. Sometimes you get these blips and it occurs again.

“I don’t know the cause of it but we will keep an eye on it.

“Police and wardens are going up and people just need to keep reporting incidents when they can and hopefully that will improve things.”

Councillor Killen said community wardens in the area are being supported in their efforts by police in Rutherglen and South Glasgow.
