The organisation responsible for voicing the views of Rutherglen residents has issued a renewed call for new members.
Rutherglen Community Council is currently seeking new members to sit on the committee which ensures the interests of local people are heard by agencies such as South Lanarkshire Council, the Scottish Government, police and health boards.
Nomination forms for proposed new members must be submitted to South Lanarkshire on or before November 3.
At a meeting of the community council last week, existing board members said they hoped at least two new people would be elected on to the council at its annual general meeting on November 8.
The council also said it is keen to forge stronger links with existing groups in Rutherglen and will look at the possibility of hosting an open night once a year when all these groups could be brought together to share their experiences and ambitions for the future of the town.
