Cash boost for fireworks display

Halfway Community Council have donated £ 50 towards the fireworks display in the area.

Commu n i t y councillors unanimously approved the move at a meeting last week.

The firework extravaganza will be held at North Halfway Hall on November 5 where hot food and drink will be served before the display.

Festivities will begin at 6pm and the display will commence at 7pm.

The free event is run by Particip8 in partnership with the 217 Gilbertfield Boys’ Brigade. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

Cambuslang East councillor Walter Brogan told the meeting that barriers would be erected at this year’s event to manage traffic.
