Fundraiser comes a decade after death

A Cam­bus­lang woman has helped ra i s e hun­dreds of pounds for charity to mark the pass­ing of her hus­band who trag­i­cally died 10 years ago.

Sadie Simp­son, 54, or­gan­ised a fundraiser in Half­way’s Tu­dor Inn on Oc­to­ber 7, ex­actly a decade to the day her hus­band Lau­rie passed away.

The night, in­volv­ing raf­fles quizzes and auc­tions, raised an im­pres­sive £844 for the Bri­tish Heart Foun­da­tion.

Lau­rie, who grew up in Spring­burn and lived in Burn­side for more than 30 years, was known for his love of mu­sic and his cheery per­son­al­ity.
