Heart charity night is in memory of Laurie

Fundraiser comes a decade after death

A Cambuslang woman has helped ra i s e hundreds of pounds for charity to mark the passing of her husband who tragically died 10 years ago.

Sadie Simpson, 54, organised a fundraiser in Halfway’s Tudor Inn on October 7, exactly a decade to the day her husband Laurie passed away.

The night, involving raffles quizzes and auctions, raised an impressive £844 for the British Heart Foundation.

Laurie, who grew up in Springburn and lived in Burnside for more than 30 years, was known for his love of music and his cheery personalit­y.
