New-look mental health site
A website which gives the public access to instant mental health information and advice has been revamped.
The Lanarkshire mental health website Elament has dedicated sections for adults, young people, carers, family and friends as well as professionals.
The revamped site has been designed in a way that will make it easier for users to navigate and get the help and support they are looking for quicker.
Susan McMorrin, NHS Lanarkshire senior health promotion officer, said: “NHS Lanarkshire has been engaged in a national programme to increase the use of technology enabled care with a particular focus on promoting self-help and self-management.
“We decided to look at updating and improving the Elament website and this is the result.
“The site gives information on local news and self-help resources and also advice on everything from stress, anxiety, eating disorders and dementia, as well as information about local services.”
Most people will experience some kind of mental health issue at some point which will impact on how they think and feel. The Elament site aims to help people cope with these aspects of life during times they find this a challenge.
Users of the new revamped site are also being encouraged to give feedback, comments or improvements they would like to see.
