Lang bow out to ruthless Auchinleck
Cambuslang Rangers....0 Auchinleck Talbot.........3
Cambuslang Rangers were knocked out of the West of Scotland Cup at the weekend when Super Premier Side Auchinleck Talbot visited Somervell.
The goals the home side conceded could easily have been avoided and the mistakes at the back cost them dearly in the end.
Lang started well enough and the Talbot keeper had to be alert to turn Dale Simeon’s effort round the post in Lang’s first attack.
The visitors took the lead after only five minutes. A free kick was conceded out on the touchline and the ball was floated into the danger area. Milliken made a move to the front post that wasn’t matched by the Lang defence and he rose to nod past Stewart in the Lang goal.
There followed a pattern of play with neither side able to get a grip on the game and it became bogged down in the middle of the park. Lang strikers Gormley and Kilmartin had very little to feed off.
