GB call-up for skater

It was goals galore once again in the Sunday Central Amateur Football League as teams lined up in the first round of the Arrow Cars Cup.

Castlemilk Dynamo eased through to the next stage following a 21-0 masterclas­s against Kilsyth Rovers.

Cambuslang Football Academy also made it through with a 12-1 victory over Ferniegair Rose while Rutherglen Rovers ran out 5-2 winners at home to Carluke Victoria. Springhall Spartans won by a large margin in an 11-1 hammering of Glasgow Rovers but Castlemilk United lost 7-0 to Haghill.

Croftfoot’s disappoint­ing start to the season continued after a 7- 1 defeat to Eastend Rovers while Fernhill United avoided an upset with a 4-2 victory away to Lanarkshir­e. A Cambuslang figure skater will represent Team GB at the Volvo Open Cup in Riga, Latvia.

Stonelaw High pupil Taylor McLeod will compete as a Basic Novice A on November 13.

The Internatio­nal Skating Union event will be streamed live around the world.
