GB call-up for skater

It was goals ga­lore once again in the Sun­day Cen­tral Am­a­teur Foot­ball League as teams lined up in the first round of the Ar­row Cars Cup.

Castlemilk Dy­namo eased through to the next stage fol­low­ing a 21-0 master­class against Kil­syth Rovers.

Cam­bus­lang Foot­ball Academy also made it through with a 12-1 vic­tory over Fern­ie­gair Rose while Ruther­glen Rovers ran out 5-2 win­ners at home to Car­luke Vic­to­ria. Spring­hall Spar­tans won by a large mar­gin in an 11-1 ham­mer­ing of Glas­gow Rovers but Castlemilk United lost 7-0 to Haghill.

Croft­foot’s dis­ap­point­ing start to the sea­son con­tin­ued after a 7- 1 de­feat to Eas­tend Rovers while Fern­hill United avoided an up­set with a 4-2 vic­tory away to La­nark­shire. A Cam­bus­lang fig­ure skater will rep­re­sent Team GB at the Volvo Open Cup in Riga, Latvia.

Stonelaw High pupil Tay­lor McLeod will com­pete as a Ba­sic Novice A on Novem­ber 13.

The In­ter­na­tional Skat­ing Union event will be streamed live around the world.
