Croftfoot Parish Church will hold their popular hymnathon this coming Saturday, December 3.

It will run from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

The morning offers the chance to come along and have your favourite hymn or Christmas carol played in exchange for a donation towards church funds.

Donnie Matheson and Derek Boyd will provide the expert accompanim­ent and there will also be tea, coffee and biscuits.

Anyone who is only able to stay for a short time should let Donnie or Wilma Morrison know in advance and arrangemen­ts will be made to have that hymn played at a certain time that is suitable.

St Columbkill­e’s Church are currently holding their mission week.

The events of this Mission Week have been designed by the people of the parish to encourage, inspire and challenge parishione­rs and others to become what Pope Francis has called“missionary disciples”who reach out to help the most vulnerable in society.

There will be a mission service every night at 7pm.

After the Thursday evening service there will be a special Nightfever event,aimed at all who are over 16 years of age, while Bishop Joseph Toal, from the Diocese of Motherwell, will participat­e in the Friday service.

Stonelaw Parish Church will be welcoming the Caledonian Voices to the church for a concert on Friday, December 16.

This will be the fifth year the choir has performed in the church, and they perform Christmas classics and sing-along carols to get everyone in the festive mood.

Tickets are onsale now at £10 and the concert will begin at 7.30pm.

Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am-2.30pm.

Stonelaw Church have also started holding 30 minute services in the Meeting Place on the first Wednesday of every month.

And the church will also hold a children’s holiday club event on Saturday, December 10.

All Wrapped Up will run from 2pm until 4pm.

A Christmas Carol concert featuring the Erskine Community Choir will be held at Fernhill and Cathkin church on Thursday, December 8 at 7pm.

Admission is £5 per adult or £2.50 for children, including supper. Flemington Hallside Church holds a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm.

Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe is open on Wednesdays from 10am-noon.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s weekly friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am-noon.

King’s Park Church will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday when Santa will make an early visit to the area.

Families will have chance to browse the usual stalls between 10am and 1pm and enjoy a cuppa and home baking in the tearoom.

Entry is by donation and the tea room costs £2.

Everyone is welcome.
