Award nod is a real honour

-

It has been a fantastic year and I have worked with some amazing people, creating some fantastic looks - and it seems that 2016 is going to end with a bang.

I got some exciting news this week - I was delighted to learn that I’m a finalist at this year’s Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards and have been invited to a glitzy bash in The Crowne Plaza on December 4.

To say I’m chuffed is an understatement.

The aim of the awards is to acknowledge and celebrate the best of the hair and beauty industry in Scotland.

I have been nominated in the freelance Make up Artist of the Year 2016 category and to be included in such an event is quite an honour.

It’s very exciting and I’m already planning my look for the evening which should be a lot of fun.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for me, and please, please keep your Fingers crossed for me on the 4th - hopefully I’ll have some good news to report in January’s Powder Room.

I have also been listed as an Elite worldwide Make up Artist in LaBride - Destination Bride Directory, so thank you to them.

And last, but certainly not least, I have been selected as one of the four top Bridal make up Artists 2016 by Gohen, an amazing bride-to-be website and Blog, which puts me in the top 50 in the UK. Not too shabby. To be acknowledged for your work when you are doing what you truly love, is an amazing feeling, especially when you have worked so incredibly hard to build up your own business.

It really does make all the blood, sweat and tears - thank goodness for waterproof mascara! - worth it.

Well, I can’t quite believe it’s December already - 2016 has been the quickest of years for me and a very busy one I’m pleased to say

If you are a bride to be in 2017 or 2018, please don’t put off booking your wedding supplier - we book at least a year in advance for peak season dates.

I have limited availability for 2017 and the diary is already filling up for 2018 so if you are looking for dates please get in touch soon.

Well Powder Room readers I would just like to take this chance to thank you for reading my column and to wish you a glamorous Christmas and a fabulous New Year.

Here’s to ramping up the gorgeous in 2017.

To be included in such an event is an honour
