Lang hit Benburb with nine

- Jim Logan at New Tinto Park

Benburb v Cambuslang Rangers Cambuslang’s unbeaten run continued at the weekend as they banged in nine goals to go nine points clear at the top.

Dale Simeon bagged his first of three by converting Kris Gebbie’s assist on 15 minutes.

Five minutes later and the lead was doubled through Liam Gormley.

A rare mistake by the Wee Gers number one Iain Stewart presented the home side with an opportunity to get back into the game as striker Livingston pounced.

But the home side’s revival was short lived and Lang went up the other end and added a third on 26 minutes. Macleod was bundled over in the box and Kilmartin fired into the bottom corner twice after he was ordered to re-take his penalty kick.

The visitors’fourth came from the foot of Simeon while their fifth was struck by Gormley on 30 minutes.

Things went from bad to worse for the hosts as they were reduced to 10 men. Blackwood saw red following a tussle with Macleod.

A couple of minutes later and it was six for the Lang as Bohme slipped the ball to Kilmartin who slid the ball home.

With five minutes of the half left Lang grabbed a seventh when Kilmartin rolled in from a tight angle after the keeper and defender collided.

Lang’s pace dropped off in the second half but they continued to dominate the match.

Dale Simeon completed his hat-rick from the penalty spot before his effort was fired across goal and knocked into the net by Benburb defender Soutar.

The Bens ended the match with nine men after McCrone was shown a second yellow card.
