•Kirkhill Lawn Tennis Club made history when their ladies’ team won Division 6 of the West of Scotland Summer Doubles League for the first time for over 20 years.

•Cathkin man Mike Kerr was part of the British wheelchair rugby team who finished fifth in the Rio Olympics.

• Glencairn’s Ryan Docherty raised thousands of pounds by completing the Ironman triathlon in Mallorca.

•Cambuslang man and Edinburgh Rugby stand-off Duncan Weir suffered a major setback in his quest for more game time after fracturing his jaw.
