Trib­utes have been paid to a man who was found dead in Fern­hill.

Michael Reid was dis­cov­ered in a house in Kirk­muir Drive at 2.25am on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 19.

He was de­scribed as a well­liked lad who was born and bred in Fern­hill.

Trib­utes have been paid to a Fern­hill man who died sud­denly last week.

Michael Reid was found dead in a house in Kirk­muir Drive at 2.25am on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 19.

It is un­der­stood the death is drugs-re­lated.

Michael’s death is the sec­ond tragedy to have hit the Fern­hill community in the past few weeks.

In De­cem­ber a 34-year-old wo­man was found dead at her home on Neil­vaig Drive.

Sur­vived by his son, Michael was de­scribed as a well-liked lad who was born and bred in Fern­hill.

Many res­i­dents took to the scheme’s Face­book page to ex­press their grief.

One wo­man said: “Oh my god, that’s shocking, the poor fam­ily. I was talk­ing to him a cou­ple of weeks ago, it’s very sad.

A sec­ond lo­cal added: “RIP Mick Reid, so sad, thoughts with your mother, lit­tle boy and all fam­ily. The last time I saw you, you were go­ing to bring in the bells. So sad, fly high an­gel.

A third man said: “RIP Michael Reid. Gut­ted you’re gone bro, all the years we knew each other.”

A po­lice spokes­woman said a post mortem will take place.

The spokes­woman added that there are no sus­pi­cious cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death.
