Tributes have been paid to a man who was found dead in Fernhill.

Michael Reid was discovered in a house in Kirkmuir Drive at 2.25am on Thursday, January 19.

He was described as a wellliked lad who was born and bred in Fernhill.

Tributes have been paid to a Fernhill man who died suddenly last week.

Michael Reid was found dead in a house in Kirkmuir Drive at 2.25am on Thursday, January 19.

It is understood the death is drugs-related.

Michael’s death is the second tragedy to have hit the Fernhill community in the past few weeks.

In December a 34-year-old woman was found dead at her home on Neilvaig Drive.

Survived by his son, Michael was described as a well-liked lad who was born and bred in Fernhill.

Many residents took to the scheme’s Facebook page to express their grief.

One woman said: “Oh my god, that’s shocking, the poor family. I was talking to him a couple of weeks ago, it’s very sad.

A second local added: “RIP Mick Reid, so sad, thoughts with your mother, little boy and all family. The last time I saw you, you were going to bring in the bells. So sad, fly high angel.

A third man said: “RIP Michael Reid. Gutted you’re gone bro, all the years we knew each other.”

A police spokeswoma­n said a post mortem will take place.

The spokeswoma­n added that there are no suspicious circumstan­ces surroundin­g the death.
