Toryglen Parish Church are to hold a murder mystery night this Saturday, February 4, with tickets £8. King’s Park Parish Church have a range of activities on offer over the next week.
These include: Zumba class, caterpillar music, mother and toddlers group, mixed badminton, messy church, community cafe, God Tok, pathfinders, carpet bowls and youth club. Go to www. kingsparkchurch.co.uk or call 0141 636 8688 for details.
The church’s Burns Supper will take place on Sunday, January 29, at 6.30pm for 7pm. Tickets are £10. King’s Park Church have also confirmed the date for their next frock swap. It will take place on Saturday, February 11, and tickets are £10. Proceeds will go towards the church and to Women’s Aid. Donations can be taken to the church.
The Sunday school’s next bring and buy sale will take place on Sunday, February 5, immediately after morning worship. All money received will go towards helping children and young people. Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am2.30pm. Tea and coffee are available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall. Stonelaw Church has also started holding 30-minute services in the Meeting Place on the first Wednesday of every month. Croftfoot United Free Church hold T In The Croft every Friday from 10am until noon.
They also hold Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month from 11.30am-1.30pm. Entry is £1.50.
They will be holding a special event on Saturday, March 18. The community event will feature a bouncy castle, craft activities, and lots of other fun things. Castlemilk Parish Church hold community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. Soup, pizza and pavlova are available from 6-8pm along with live music.
The church have also launched a monthly initiative called Treasure Hunters. They will take a street per month and spend some time getting to know who lives there, who works there and form connections between that street and the church. Flemington Hallside Church hold a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm. Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open every Thursday between noon and 2pm, with tea/coffee and biscuits available for £1. Burnside Blairbeth Church’s Messy Church services will continue on Saturday, February 11.
It starts with an hour of crafts and games and is followed by a celebration with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal. St Columbkille’s Church are offering a chance to have a cuppa every day of the week after 10am mass. There will be a hot cup of tea or coffee and roll with bacon or sausage. All proceeds will go towards keeping the church hall functioning. Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe is open every Wednesday from 10am until noon. Rutherglen West and Wardlawhill Church will hold a ceilidh supper dance on February 25.
The church’s friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am-noon. A men’s shed is starting up in Rutherglen Baptist Community Church. The objective of men’s shed is to give men who have time on their hands a place to meet. A workshop area will be built at one end of the hall, with a relaxation area available to sit and chat and put the world to rights over a cup of tea.
